BUILDING TOGETHER NEWS
Three months have passed since my last bulletin and the
amount of money raised has grown very nicely. At the end of October, there is
£35,874.52 in the fund with some money to come in, primarily in the shape of
Gift Aid from the Snowdon Mountain March and the Great North Run.
We have been very active this autumn - our sales have included a book sale, Pellis tops and the Pansy sale and we sold cards in aid of the fund at the Charity Card Sale. Sponsored events included the Snowdon Mountain March and the Great North Run. You can read about these elsewhere in the magazine. Suffice to say both of these events were very successful - and enjoyable. For pure entertainment, there was "A Garden for All Seasons" at Jenny and David Whittall’s and the Red Rose Harmony Singers and Broughton Handbell Ringers concert. We have also received donations - from the Keep Fit Group, Ladies after Eight and the Tiddlers continue to come in.
We do not rest upon our laurels! Between now and the publication of the magazine, three events will have taken place - the Autumn Fair, the Acts production of "One of Us" and the St Andrew’s Day Meal at "Vincents".
Coming up to Christmas we shall be holding a Coffee Morning and Sale on Saturday 14th December in the Church Hall. The third visit to Jenny and David’s garden is planned for the late afternoon of Sunday 15th December.
On January 25th we look forward to a return visit of Sue Jeeves and Sue Keady with another tape / slide production and in February Acts will put on their pantomime. Details of both these events will be available in due course. There will be a jumble sale some time in either January or February. On April 10th we will hold an Auction.
There are other events in the pipeline, both large and small. If you have any ideas and if you are happy to organise a fund raising event, please contact us. Our thanks to all who have helped in the past and to all of you for giving generously.
